Cate Hummel is a designer from Central Illinois. She graduated in 2018 with a BFA in Graphic Design and a BFA in Photography from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In 2020 she received a Masters in Fibers (textile design) at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Cate has experience designing for both print and digital platforms. She worked for an independent media company designing advertisements that ranged from full page newspaper ads to community transit ads for both in-house and external clients. She has storyboarded, directed, filmed, and edited short videos and has experience working various roles on photoshoots. Cate has also worked on exhibition catalogs and other book design projects. Throughout her graduate studies she immersed herself in textile materials and processes. She has experience with surface print and pattern design, sewing, machine knitting, jacquard wovens, as well as dye sublimation and other dye techniques.
